A One-Way Interview consists of you creating a series of interview questions that a candidate will answer on video at their convenience.
There are two ways to invite candidates to a One-Way Interview on Spark Hire:
- Option 1: Invite through Spark Hire (described in this article) – This sends a branded email (and optional SMS) to the candidate via Spark Hire.
- Option 2: Using an Interview link – Instead of sending an email (and SMS) from Spark Hire to invite your candidates, the interview link feature gives you a link that you can insert anywhere you want. For example, you can put the interview link in a personal email to a candidate.
Invite candidates to a One-Way Video Interview through Spark Hire
-
From the Assessment list, click Invite at the top of the page and select One-Way Interview. Alternatively, when viewing a specific job, click Invite on the right and select One-Way Interview.
- You’ll be redirected to the Invite page, where the assessment type will be pre-populated.
-
Select the job you want the interview to be for and a question set.
-
Enter the candidate’s name, email, and phone number if relevant.
- Add up to 1000 candidates in bulk by uploading a CSV file. To do this, click CSV upload, download the template, fill the columns with the relevant candidates, and re-upload the file.
- You also have the option to send candidates updates via SMS text messages.
⚠️ The CSV and SMS features are not available to some legacy plans. -
Optionally, customize your email invitation.
- Default: If you have set up default email templates for one-way interview invites in your email template library, they will automatically be used as the default content for your invitations.
-
Customize: If you want to edit the email invitation content or choose another template, select this option. Customize the content or choose a new email template by clicking Select template and selecting one from the list.
-
Set a completion deadline by selecting a due date or a number of days. Regardless of how it's displayed (as a date or duration), the deadline is based on when the invite is sent.
📝 Note: Deadline behavior is different when using Interview links, where you can choose to expire the link after a specific number of days from when the candidate starts the interview, or on a specific date. - When you're ready to finish, click Send invites.
