Hide video for One-Way Video Interviews offers an alternative way to review candidate responses by focusing on audio only. This feature gives hiring teams more flexibility in how they evaluate responses—by listening instead of watching.
- Add another option to your evaluation toolkit
- Streamline and customize your review process
How it works
When Hide video is enabled, candidates will still record their responses as usual—they are not informed that their video may be hidden during review. However, reviewers will hear the candidate’s audio but won’t see the video.
Enable hide video
This setting can be applied as a default for all jobs or at the job level.
Set as default for all jobs
- From the left-side menu, go to Jobs > Job settings.
- Scroll down to Candidate video visibility and toggle the Hide video candidates from reviewers.
- Click Save. This will apply to all newly created jobs.
Set at the job level
- From the job list page, select the job where you want to enable hiding candidate videos from reviewers.
- Go to the Assessments tab.
- Scroll down to Hide candidate videos from reviewers, turn the toggle on, and click Save.
Reviewing interviews with hidden video
When reviewers open an interview with hide video enabled, they’ll hear the candidate’s response without seeing their video. Instead, they’ll see an audio waveform with a “Video disabled” badge, making it clear that the video is intentionally hidden.
This applies everywhere on the platform, on the Assessment view page and the Candidate page, and even for reviewers accessing the interview through a shared link.
