📢 This feature is currently in beta. |
The Invite Candidate page allows you to invite candidates to One-Way Video Interviews and Predictive Talent Assessments easily and efficiently.
Big news 🚀 Instead of the old setup wizard, you’ll now use a streamlined and assessment-focused page that aligns with the job-level setup. This update simplifies the process, so you can seamlessly invite candidates to One-Ways and PTAs—all from one place.
Invite candidates
-
There are many places in Spark Hire from where you can invite a candidate to take an assessment:
- From the Assessment list page, click Invite at the top of the page.
- From the left-side menu, click Interviews > Invite.
- From the Interviews page, click Invite.
- From the candidate’s profile, click the three dots on the far right and select Invite.
- From the View job page, click Invite at the top of the page.
-
In all cases, the Invite dropdown will look the same and you will be asked to choose one of the available assessment options.
- One-Way Video Interview
- Live Video Interview
- Predictive Talent Assessment
- Request references
For Live Video Interviews, follow the steps in this article to complete the invitation process.
If you select One-Way Video Interview, Predictive Talent Assessment, or Request references, you will be redirected to the Invite page, where you’ll complete specific setup steps based on the assessment type (see step 3).
-
Select the job you want the interview to be for and an assessment type.
- Depending on the type of assessment, complete the following setup:
- One-Way Video Interview: Select an existing question set for your interview or create a new one.
- Predictive Talent Assessment: Select a relevant predictive profile.
- Reference check: Select a Reference survey and the number of references requested.
-
Enter the candidate’s name, email, and phone number if relevant.
- Add up to 100 candidates in bulk by uploading a CSV file. To do this, click CSV upload, download the template, fill the columns with the relevant candidates, and re-upload the file.
- You also have the option to send candidates updates via SMS text messages.
⚠️ The CSV and SMS features are not available to some legacy plans. -
Optionally, customize your email invitation.
- Default: If you have set up default email templates for one-way interview invites in your email template library, they will automatically be used as the default content for your invitations.
- Customize: If you want to edit the email invitation content or choose another template, select this option. Customize the content or choose a new email template by clicking Select template and selecting one from the list.
-
Set a completion deadline for candidates using:
- Relative timelines (e.g., "3 days") that expire at the end of the third day in the user’s time zone.
- Absolute timelines (specific dates and times), allowing precise control over the candidate's deadline.
-
When you're ready to finish, click Send invites.
Timeline overview
This timeline only applies to Reference check requests. |
When you request references, you’ll see a clear timeline on the candidate's assessment status showing three key dates:
- Requests sent – The date the Reference checks request was sent to the candidate.
- Candidate’s deadline – The last date for the candidate to provide their reference contacts.
- References’ deadline – The last date for references to complete the survey.
The timeline updates automatically based on when the request is sent and helps you track progress.
