This FAQ covers both One-Way and Live interviews. Find quick answers on accepting your invite, setting up your camera and mic, joining or recording, deadlines, and getting help.

How do I accept and access the interview?

You can accept and access your interview by opening the interview link and clicking on View invite. You will be taken to a page where you can proceed to your interview.

If you are prompted to confirm your email address, you will receive an email with an email confirmation link. Simply click on that link, and you will be able to proceed to your interview.

Can I practice recording?

Yes, you can practice recording. After you check your camera, microphone, and connection, you will have the opportunity to record practice videos so you can better familiarize yourself with the recording process. Practice videos are not saved or shared with the company.

Can I check my camera and microphone first?

Yes, you can check your mic and camera. After the short tutorial, you can test and select your camera and microphone before you begin your interview.

Which browser should I use?

If Safari on iPad says it is not supported, turn off Request Desktop Website (Settings > Safari > Request Desktop Website).

What is my status in the hiring process? Can you share more about the job, company, or location?

Spark Hire Meet is an assessment tool used by organizations as part of their hiring process. We do not have details about the role, company policies, or your status. For more information, reach out to the hiring company directly.

If you’re interviewing with Spark Hire, open a support request and mention this so we can connect you with our team and assist you.

Can I use a phone or tablet?

Yes, you can use a phone or a tablet. Open your invitation, select Go to your interview, and follow the steps. Use Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS.

How do I know I accepted the invitation?

You will get a confirmation email after you accept. You can also sign in at app.sparkhire.com/login to view your interview on your dashboard.

How can I request a deadline extension?

To request a deadline extension, open your interview link and select Go to your interview.

Depending on the company’s settings, you may:

  • Request an extension
  • Receive an automatic extension
  • See that extensions are not available

If your interview has not expired yet, check again after it expires. Some companies allow requests only then. All extension decisions are made by the hiring company.

Can I view the questions in advance?

No, you can’t view questions in advance. You will see one question at a time during the interview unless the company has shared questions outside the platform.

What questions might be asked?

We do not know the company’s questions. Check any messages or materials the company sent for clues about topics.

What happens if I miss the deadline?

If you miss the deadline, open your interview link and select Go to your interview. Based on the company’s settings, you may be able to request an extension or receive one automatically. This request goes directly to the company you're interviewing for.

If you are not given the option to request an extension through the interview link, this means the company you’re interviewing with does not allow deadline extensions for this position.

What should I do if I need help?

If you need assistance, please contact our support team by submitting an inquiry here. We'll be sure to get back to you as soon as we can!

In addition, if you'd like to test your equipment and connection before your interview, please reach out to set up a time to speak with a member of our team before your interview.

Can I re-record an answer?

It depends on the company’s settings. Before each question, you will see:

  • Think time: how long you can review before the recording starts
  • Takes: how many times you can re-record
  • Response time: your time limit while recording

Do I need to finish in one sitting?

No. You can pause and return any time before the deadline. When you sign back in and open your interview, you will see how many questions remain.

Can I review my interview before submitting?

Yes, you can review your One-Way Interview answers before submitting them. However, once you have moved on to the next question, you cannot go back and review a previous answer.

You’ll be able to review, retake (if multiple takes are granted), or skip submitting (if dissatisfied with all recordings and are out of remaining retakes) the most recently recorded answer.

What if I do not have a webcam?

You can use an Android or iOS mobile device instead (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS). Other options:

  • Borrow a webcam or mobile device
  • Use a public resource such as a library with webcams

If none of these work, contact Spark Hire support, and we will help with the next steps.

Why does my interview link show that the job was deactivated?

If you enter a video interview and see an error about the job being deactivated, the hiring company deactivated the job tied to your interview. While it’s inactive, you can’t start or continue the interview.

What to do next

  • Contact the hiring company and ask them to reactivate the job
  • After they confirm it’s active, open your invitation and select Go to your interview again

Feel free to contact the Spark Hire support team for assistance reaching out to the company.
