If something isn’t working, try these steps in order. Most issues are resolved here.
Quick fixes
- Close other apps that use your camera or mic: Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, and default camera apps can block access
- Restart your device. This frees the camera and mic from any stuck apps
- Update your browser
- Chrome for Windows, macOS, Android → Get Google Chrome
- Firefox for Windows, macOS (One-Way only) → Get Mozilla Firefox
- Safari for iOS → Update iOS in Settings
- Select the correct camera and mic in settings. In the recorder, open Settings (bottom area) and choose your devices
- Check your connection. Use a wired Ethernet connection if possible, or move closer to your router
Camera issues
Symptom: The camera is selected, but you do not see video.
Try this:
- Close other camera apps: Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, photos/camera apps
- Restart your computer or phone
- Update your browser to the latest version
- Chrome (One-Way and Live on Windows, macOS, Android)
- Firefox (One-Way on Windows, macOS)
- Safari (One-Way and Live on iOS)
- Check permissions: allow the site to use your camera when prompted by the browser
- Check the lens: remove any cover or tape; some laptops have a physical shutter
- Update or reinstall your webcam driver (computers). See your device maker: Logitech, Dell, Lenovo, HP, ASUS, Samsung, Sony.
- Try another camera or switch to a mobile device. On Android, use Chrome; on iOS, use Safari
iPad tip: If Safari says it is not supported, go to Settings > Safari > Request Desktop Website and turn it off.

Symptom: The mic is selected, but the meter does not move, or others cannot hear you.
Try this:
- Close other apps using the mic: Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, music, or recording apps
- Restart your device
- Update your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari as above)
- Check permissions: allow the site to use your microphone when prompted
- Pick the right mic in Settings and speak into it. Watch for the level meter to move
- Check system input settings
- macOS: Change sound input
- Windows: Fix microphone problems
- iOS: Allow mic access
- For external mics, replug firmly or try a different port
- Try another mic or use a headset with a built-in mic
Audio cutting in and out:
- Switch to a different microphone in Settings and test again
- Unplug and replug external mics to ensure a tight connection
- Close bandwidth-heavy apps and browser tabs
Network and performance
- Use a wired Ethernet connection when possible
- Move closer to the Wi-Fi router and avoid busy networks
- Close downloads, streaming apps, cloud backups, and heavy tabs
- If video stutters, lower your video quality in More actions → Video quality
